Albert Einstein once said “the women who follow the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd.” The woman who is willing to walk beyond the crowd is likely to find herself in undiscovered places. This statement is true for all of us and it’s about walking in our truth. We need to be courageous enough to permit ourselves to explore our purpose and passions.
Celebration and acknowledgment of exceptional Women is the theme in South Africa for August. We pay tribute to more than 20 000 women who marched in protest to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956 and pioneers of Gender Equality in our Country. Women who decided to live their truth, to be the first and not the last of many to courageously follow their purpose. We can all learn from these women and show up just like them with vigor, tenacity, and undying energy towards our purpose and passions.
